Rainbow has been holding down the number one position for a couple of days using this deck! So the first thing to mention is that there are two win conditions in this deck, hog rider and the lumberjack. Unlike traditional hog decks where you pressure the opposite lane once the opponent starts a push you should do that with this deck. You should defend with the lumberjack and try to keep him alive and then you can counter push. The hog is a great card to play behind the lumberjack because once the rage is split then you going to get extra value with the hog. The two spells in this deck synergies extremely well together, also the zap and ice golem death damage is capable of killing minion hordes which means you can save your fireball. Supporting the lumberjack with minions or guards will often force the opponent to play their best counter to the hog, then once the lumberjack dies you can often apply pressure with the hog and take advantage of the rage.
This guy is your main tank killer and just like any other card he can be lethal if he’s in the lumberjacks rage spell. His card can also force your opponent to over spend on defence especially if you catch them without a solid counter in cycle.
As I mentioned above this guy is also a win condition in this deck, his speed and rage spell makes him great on defence which you can then turn into a counter push taking advantage of his rage spell. Try to protect him on defence by using the ice golem as a meat shield, this will help you with your counter push.
Guards are incredibly strong this meta and can offer a lot of defensive value against pekkas, princes, graveyard and even at distracting units like inferno dragon.
The hog is a great card to use to pressure your opponent especially if you play him into the lumberjacks rage spell. He can also be used to kite units away from your tower.
The ice golem will be a key defensive card especially at helping keep the lumberjack alive.
If you have the hog in your opening hand then go ahead and pressure the opponent by playing him at the bridge. As with all early stages of any match try to figure out what your opponent is playing and then try to bait out their counter then pressure the opponent when you can. With this deck it’s all about defending then counter pushing even in the early stages of the game. You should never pressure the opposite lane unless you have a good elixir lead.
Later game is similar to early game with this deck besides you can now be more aggressive at supporting with hog rider and lumber jack pushes! Don’t be afraid to make prediction spell placements if the opponent is repeative on defence.
