This hog deck is a great free to play option for everyone to use. As you’ve seen on my channel before this deck can be used to defeat some of the strongest decks in the game. Because this deck has such a low average elixir cost it is extremely easy to out cycle those heavier decks especially during in the early stages of the game. It’s important to acquire as much chip damage as possible while using this deck, this includes ice spirit, fireball and log, all of these can be used to either support your hog or take down the opponents units while also getting tower chip damage. Don’t be afraid to switch lanes if the opponent commits to a heavy unit in one lane because you should apply pressure in the opposite lane. Lucas plays this deck fairly aggressively especially during the early stages of the game. Prediction spell placements can easily give you an advantage and allow your hog to get an extra hit or two on the opponents towers. Just make sure that you know what your opponent is playing and what cards they have in cycle before you make any prediction plays. Ice golem in front of the hog or ice spirit behind the hog are great support units for the hog and can also distract any defensive troops the opponent plays. The cycle cards are key to defending along with your princess towers and canon. Using the cycle cards on defence allows you to get back to the hog while they’re applying pressure in the other lane!
Musketeers is your main answer to any air units. You should try to protect her from dying as well as you can just like your would a princess in a bait deck.
Hog rider is your main win condition and should be used to apply pressure throughout the match when your opponent spends a lot of elixir in one lane or you know their counters are out of cycle. He can be used to kite units away from your towers if you don’t have another good option to counter their push.
Ice golem is a cycle card and also a mini tank. This makes him great defensively turning into a counter push. He can easily be used to kite units across the lanes and then he tank tank tower damage for the hog as he crosses the bridge. His death damage paired with zap can also kill minion hordes giving you a 1 elixir lead and also letting you save your fireball for the three musketeers.
Early game you can easily annoy your opponent because of the speed of this deck. If you find yourself against those heavier decks then you’re going to need to get the majority of your tower damage during the early stages of the game. As with all matchups you need to learn what your opponent is playing and then you can track and out cycle their key defensive units.
Later game can be tricky especially if your opponent has a couple of counters for the hog rider. So it can be important to play some smart defence and make some positive elixir trades to help support your pushes. Try to start making prediction spell placements especially if the opponent has goblin gang or tombstone. If you watch the replays you can see how Lucas keeps cycling his units in defence while keeping them spaced out and making the opponents troops walk around the map as much as possible buying your towers more time to shut down their push!
