We have the returning guest Zoreldo who is an absolute beast with not only this deck but cycle decks in general. This deck has been around for a couple of years however recently it’s use rates have been increasing. This is a very fun deck to play and just like all cycle decks, learning the mechanics and micro interactions will help improve your overall skill in the game. One important things you should do every match is identify what your most important defensive units are to their two most offensive units, then you should aim to play these as often as possible so you can cycle back to it sooner and it’ll come cause more trouble for your opponent. You pressure the opponent offensively if you don’t have the correct units in cycle for defence, this allows you to cycle while also forcing the opponent to defend as well. Just like a lot of cycle decks out their you need to control the tempo of the match. Also learn what damage your log and rocket do when combined together, there’s nothing worse than losing a match because miscalculated their tower damage.
Protecting your princess’ is very important if you want to build an elixir advantage. You should only do this if they don’t have a card which can kill two or three princess’ at once such at poison. Princess at the bridge can be useful if you know your opponent will have to respond to her using one for their key defensive units, for example bats. The wrong time to play her at the bridge is if you need to use her defensively and/or you’re not close to spell cycle range.
Learning when to rocket cycle is key to using this deck. When you rocket cycle you need to make sure you can defend what they have coming towards your towers and you finish with a tower damage advantage, because as soon as you begin to rocket cycle the opponent will go all in at the bridge.
Hog rider is your main win condition in this deck, however for, watching the replays in today’s video you can see how today’s bro will play him offensively in order to distract the opponents troops from locking onto your princess or even your towers. You can combine this card with ice spirit too, this will allow your hog rider one extra hit on their tower or temporarily freeze any defensive units they play.
Learning your opponents deck early on is very important, just like we discussed above. However remembering your opponents cycle is what separates pro players from the average player. This allows you to play the correct support cards and shut down any hopes they have of a counter push. Don’t rocket cycle in single elixir. Try to protect your princess and pekka to keep them alive as long as possible.
Double elixir you can easily cycle back to the defensive units you require so don’t be afraid to use them offensively knowing your opponent will play their win condition. If their towers are around 1200 HP you can begin to spell cycle towards the end of double elixir and into sudden death.
