Mega Knight Control!
Ash posted 4 years ago (updated 4 years ago)

Today we have Guard on the channel sharing this insanely strong deck that has some of the strongest units in the game and also the off-meta mega knight! This is a heavy deck, at 4.1 elixir you should play it similar to a heavy beat down deck, meaning play passively early game and try to build up a huge push in double elixir. This deck has an element of fireball bait with the ewiz, magic archer and royal hogs, if you can bait out their fireball you can go ahead and punish the opponent. You have plenty of air defence inside this deck and you also has the splash damage and knock back ability of the snowball which is great against clone decks. Dark prince can be used to help tank damage from charging or dashing units like prince, bandit and even pekka.

Mega Knight

Mega knight will become even stronger when the pekka gets a nerf next season so get some practise in before the balance changes go live! His enter the arena ability makes him very strong defensively and his 'tankyness' means he has good counter push potential too. Try to use your units to help support the mega knight.

Magic Archer

Magic archer is a fairly high skill cap card and placing him correctly can offer some insane value. His long range means you can play him opposite lane to keep him out of spell range while also been able to help defend. As I mentioned above he is a fireball bait card so don't play him to close to your other units like royal hogs or ewiz.

Goblin Cage

Goblin cage is currently the strongest card in the game and after next months balance changes I think he'll be the second strongest behind the executioner. It can be used to kite units into the centre of the arena and then the brawler provides some small counter push potential. This card will be vital on defence against giant. golem, bridge spam and hog rider! If the opponent has xbow then the brawler has a small spawn delay meaning the xbow will lock onto your tower after taking down the cage.

Early Stage Gameplan
X1

Early game, play passively, wait for the opponent to make the first play and try to work out what deck they're playing. You can defend and counter push but be careful not to over commit and leave yourself low on elixir. I wouldn't play the mega knight in single elixir unless you have to use him defensively.

Late Stage Gameplan
X2

In double elixir you can start to support your pushes more, split lane push if you need to especially if the opponent has lots of splash damage units. Check out the video to watch guard use this deck inside a grand challenge.
