HOG + MINI PEKKA CYCLE!
Ash posted 4 years ago (updated 4 years ago)

Today we have Tempus on the channel sharing this deck that has been around for a couple of years! You can check out the video to see some high level game play, stick me on mute and watch the decision making that Tempus makes when using this deck. I would say this is a medium-high skill cap deck. The cycle power of this deck is insane and you should always aim to protect your princess as much as possible because she is very important on defence. You should use the hog rider to keep up the pressure on the opponent and force them to spend elixir defensively. You can use the ice spirit to help support the hog offensively, try to out cycle the opponents key counters to your hog rider. Learn what damage your rocket + log does to the opponents princess towers in case you need to spell cycle in over time. This deck shouldn’t be played as aggressively as you would a 2.6 hog rider deck. This deck has a lot of defensive power so try to counter push and don’t over commit offensively with the hog if you apply opposite lane pressure.

Mini P.E.K.K.A

Mini pekka can be used to help take down tanks and also bridge spam units like the ram rider, battle ram, hog or ghost. She can also be used to catch miners. Try to counter push behind this unit if it has a over half it’s HP remaining. Never use this card at the bridge it should only be used as a defensive troop.

Ice Golem

Ice golem is a great mini tank that can help you make a lot of positive elixir trades, it’s also a great unit to use to tank tower damage for the hog rider. It’s frost nova can kill skeletons and bats and it can also buy your towers enough time to stop minions or goblins. It can also be used to kite units like pekka, ghost or prince into the opposite lane.

Hog Rider

Hog rider is your win condition, try to force their counters from their hand or out cycle them then you can go ahead and punish them offensively with this card.

Early Stage Gameplan
X1

Early game princess in the back or ice spirit at the bridge are both great opening plays. Remember don’t play to aggressively, try to react to what your opponent does and pressure when you know they’re low on elixir or they don’t have a good counter in cycle. Try to stack up your princess’ and protect them to force your opponent to use a spell or invest more elixir on taking them out. Only rocket if you can take out units like sparky, wizard, executioner or witch. You shouldn’t use your spells to aggressively in single elixir.

Late Stage Gameplan
X2

Double elixir you’ll be able to cycle back to that hog rider a lot quicker and hopefully out cycle their key defensive units. Try to get as many hog hits as possible your main aim to to get their tower into rocket + log range or lower before over time starts. Defence is still important with this deck however so always ensure you have enough elixir to defend the opponents pushes.
