Today we have Viper on the channel sharing this Hog Rider deck that he used to reach a new trophy record at over 8100 trophies!! This is quick cycle deck that has lots of defensive units to help you take down some of the strongest decks right now. The triple spells work beautifully inside this deck and all synergies extremely well with other cards. The tornado particularly works well on defence with the executioner and can offer some great elixir trades if used correctly. The log is great for chipping away at the opponents towers throughout the match and it also can be used predictively to support the hog if you know your opponent has skeleton army or goblin gang in cycle. Against lava hound always apply opposite lane pressure as soon as they play their hound, Viper likes to pressure with Valkyrie and goblins at the bridge. He will also use defensive rockets against their support units and if they have clone you will need save tornado to use defensively. If the opponent has a two or three counters to the hog rider then your main win condition will become the rocket and the log. However you should still use the hog to force the opponent to respond defensively. Play patiently with the rocket and only use it on their tower if they give you spell value or you have at least an executioner or Valkyrie down ready to defend. If the opponent is playing graveyard then your main defence will the goblins or the Valkyrie, try to stop their tank at the bridge if possible and always apply opposite lane pressure.
Executioner is a great defensive option and he also has great synergy with the tornado on defence. If you’re spell cycling using this card preemptively on defence so the opponent can’t rush you. You can use goblins or Valkyrie to help protect him from ranged units or also units like prince or pekka.
Hog rider is your main win condition and is great for pressuring the opponent and really been able to control the tempo of the match. You can use the ice spirit to support him and it will also allow an extra hog hit. If the opponent has log bait units in cycle you can use your log predictively like viper does in the first match.
Early game it’s important to access what deck the opponent is playing so you know what units to need to save for defence. You can start out the match with a hog rider at the bridge or even cycling ice spirit or goblins. Aim to activate your king tower as early as possible to help out on defence throughout the rest of the match.
In double elixir you should keep up the pressure with the hog rider even if you’ve already taken a tower. Stack up defensive units and counter push after a successful defence. Goodluck with this deck everyone!
