New Miner Control Deck!
Ash posted 3 years ago (updated 3 years ago)

Today we have ThunderStruck on the channel sharing this deck that is currently taking over the pro scene! The bats and spear goblins goblins work well in this deck because they are cheap support cards that you can use alongside the miner and they also act as zap bait units as well. For defence you have the bomb tower which is great for kiting units away from your princess towers and it’s also a great counter to siege decks. The prince is perfect for applying pressure opposite lane pressure if the opponent plays a heavy unit in the back. Because this deck cycles so quickly you can easily cycle back to a second prince in double elixir. Try to get good value from your splash units and use them to counter push with.

Miner is your main win condition and should be used throughout the match to slowly chip away at the opponents towers. Use your cycle units to support him and apply extra pressure, on a counter push you can play him behind their tower to pull back any defensive troops they play. In double elixir you can start painting him with the poison on offence if you know you can get good spell value.

Magic Archer

Magic archer is another zap bait unit because a lot of opponents will use their small spells against him. Use his long range to your advantage and keep him out of spell range to your towers. He can offer a lot of value if played in the centre when your opponent is applying dual lane pressure. Try to keep him alive for as long as possible by protecting him with your squishy units.

Barbarian Barrel

Barb barrel is a great spell that can be used against bait units for a positive elixir trade. The barbarian can also be used to tank damage for other units or to support the miner.

Early Stage Gameplan

Opening plays you can either place the magic archer in the back or play miner in the safe spot on the opponents towers. Try to learn what deck your opponent is playing and the most important thing is to not go to aggressive with this deck. You will often end up playing into overtime when using this deck so play patiently and passively in single elixir.

Late Stage Gameplan

In double elixir you can start supporting your miner a lot more. Try to stack up the units you require most on defence depending on what deck your opponent is playing. You can also behind to pair the miner and poison together on offence.
