Today we have Surg TS on the channel sharing this classic hog princess deck! Now this is a fairly high skill cap deck but it is definitely easier to learn than the traditional 2.6 hog deck! This deck has a been around for a couple of years now and works great on ladder or in challenges. You will mainly rely on offence for a successful defence, this will be more important against heavier beat down decks. Against air decks you can use your mini pekka offensively and you’ll rely on the princess and bats for defending. This is a chip deck so keep up the pressure with the hog rider throughout the match. The mini pekka has great synergy with the ice golem because, as you can see from the video, it is extremely strong when played offensively! The best push is an ice golem tanking for either the hog rider or the mini pekka. Have your spells ready to help protect these units on offence. You can also split lane push if you have a good elixir advantage.
Princess is one of your key defensive troops in the deck, try to protect her and keep her alive for as long as possible, you want to force your opponent to use a spell against her.
Ice golem can offer a lot of value for only two elixir. It can be used as a mini tank to help protect your hog rider or princess or it can also be used to tank damage for your princess towers. It can also be used to kite units into the opposite lane, this works well against pekka, prince, baby dragon, ghost and mega knight.
Mini pekka is your main tank killer, she can also be used to help tank out ram rider, hog rider, battle ram, miner etc. Always counter push with her and if you don’t need her defensively then make sure you use her on offence.
Early game you can start out with a hog rider at the bridge to see how your opponent responds. Try to make positive elixir trades on defence then you can cash in on these on offence. Don’t over over commit offensively until double elixir. If you don’t need your princess for defence you can use her at the bridge to help get some chip damage. Only use your rocket if you can take out units that cost 5 elixir or more while also hitting their princess tower!
Double elixir can be fun with this deck because of how fast paced it can be, learn what damage your two spells do when paired together in case you need to spell cycle in overtime. Take any spell value you can and always counter push. Stay aggressive to force your opponent to spend elixir defensively rather than on offence.
