We have 4 interesting changes this month, each designed to rebalance a card that was particularly overused or underused in the meta. Let’s break them down:
The Heal Spell was an extremely underused card, meaning that a rework was definitely in store for the card. Now, the heal spirit will bounce into the arena, jumping on opposing units and casting a heal spell on yours. At a tournament standard, the spirit heals 366 damage, which is more than enough to completely neutralize arrows! All interactions will be the same as the Ice Spirit, so the card’s mechanics will be rather similar. Also note that all copies of your Heal Spell will be transferred over to the Heal Spirit. If you have a Level 12 Heal Spell, for example, your Heal Spirit will instantly be Level 12. Finally, The heal Spirit will be the Card Level Boost for the season, so it will be automatically leveled up to your king tower level for the duration of the season.
Overall a good change. The Magic Archer will have to walk one extra tile to lock onto anything now, giving players that extra bit of time to react to him. In addition, a shorter range means that he will be much weaker on defense, having to be that much closer to the line of fire. However, his arrow still travels the same distance, so you will still be able to snipe at your opponents tower using geometry!
The dev team seemed to really like the change to the Barbarian Hut, so they’re doing the same with the Goblin Hut. By decreasing the lifetime from 50 to 40 seconds, the goblin hut will be less annoying on the opponent's side, but it will provide much more defensive value with the three death spawns. Overall, the hut still spawns 12 spear goblins like before, but the last three spear goblins will not be grouped together.
The Skeleton Barrel buff was meant to give players a bit of a substitute for the popular Wall Breakers. By changing their speed to fast and decreasing their hitpoints, the barrel can still reach the tower when ignored, but it will definitely require more of an immediate reaction from your opponents.
These changes have been teased by the dev team, but are not coming in this upcoming season, if at all.

The Clash Royale League East season begins on April 4th, with 8 stacked teams competing for the championship! Since CRL West will likely be delayed until mid May, this will be a great source of high quality gameplay. There is also a fantasy royale for the season, where players can have a change to win up to 1000 gems! Just head to the News Royale tab, and pick a team of 4 players that you think will earn the most crowns!
